Good Morning Year 6 and 7.

I need a photo of João for the Yearbook;-)

Our goal is to be able to make a game with Scratch so today we need to look at and understand what kind of games we can make.

In order to do this we need to PLAY some Scratch games.

Check out this link to get started: http://scratch.mit.edu/galleries/view/138298

Let's have some fun!

Welcome back Year 6 and 7. Hope you enjoyed your break.

Problem: How can I use Computer Technology to have fun?
Area of Interaction: Human Ingenuity (Why and how do we create? What are the consequences?)

1) 15 minutes typing
2) Now it's time to move into Term 3 and start our new project.

Open a Word 2010 document,
Write your name,
On the next line write INVESTIGATE and centre text,
On the next line write 1.  Identify the Problem (left margin)

Now, we will write 1 paragraph to introduce our project.

Next, onto 2. Develop a Design Brief

To solve my problem I will do the following research.

1. What is "programming language"? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Programming_language
2. What is Scratch programming? http://scratched.media.mit.edu/
3. What is a tutorial?  use teacher as reference
4. What is a sprite? http://wiki.scratch.mit.edu/wiki/Sprite

Now let's open Scratch.

Learning objective - The student will: understand the concept of a design brief and adapt a given design brief to the problem or, with guidance, start to develop a design brief. Students will (A3) ask useful questions about the investigation and (A6) understand the importance of questioning the value of sources of information
